We've been adventuring out for fire wood every few days. Sometimes every day. It's been pretty cold so when the temperature is up or if there's no precipitation we usually go out, taking advantage of the weather. It takes us less time to fill the truck up than it did early in the winter, and we know where to go now for the dead standing trees and where not to go. Some areas are picked over, or too young of forest to be of any use.
Snow shoeing is fun too, we've been doing that a lot. Not so much these past few days but we were on a roll there for a while going almost every day. Pretty much going to get wood, snowshoeing or running every day. Except the really really cold windy days, like today.
Other random updates: the art is coming along quickly, it's amazing what gets done when you are focused. I feel like it is all I think about. I have a list of commissions to do right now, and it feels great! Making sure to make time for my own art as well so my new concept continues to progress. Talking to someone about an art show later this year & looking for shows or grant opportunities. Need to build a booth where I can photograph things better. This new group of work, once photographed and written about could help me get a show. Been reading a lot of articles about having a cohesive body of work to apply to shows with. With the commission money I will buy more materials and a table saw. I need one SO badly so I can make my own supports, it'd be way cheaper in the long run.
Bob got a sax. He's been practicing almost every day. I'm going to pick up my flute from middle school. It's going to be obnoxious, good thing we don't really have neighbors right now.
Here's just some photos I took the other day while out and about. :)
